On an annual basis, WFUMB may sponsor an officially recognized WFUMB Speaker at an Annual Conference of each of the Affiliated Organizations.

The organizers of major International Scientific Meetings on medical ultrasound hosted by WFUMB affiliated organizations as well as World Congresses may ask for a WFUMB Lecture to be given during the meeting.

The lecture shall be a "State of the Art" lecture on a topic proposed by the Affiliated Organization in charge of the meeting, and will require the approval of the WFUMB Administrative Council. The lecturer shall, as often as possible, be member of the WFUMB Administrative Council, and the WFUMB Executive Bureau shall take part in the selection of the lecturer.

The lecturer shall represent the WFUMB if there is not any other member of the WFUMB Administrative Council present at the meeting. In the beginning of the lecture, there shall be a report on the main activities of WFUMB. WFUMB shall be involved in the preparation of this report.

The expenses of the "WFUMB Lecture" shall be partly or totally held by WFUMB.

WFUMB Lectures have been given in Europe, Latin America, Australia and Asia.
