WFUMB organizes World Congresses in Ultrasound every two years covering the whole field of diagnostic ultrasound.

WFUMB sponsors other congresses and courses in certain situations.

WFUMB organizes and sponsors workshops on Safety of Ultrasound in Medicine.

There are various committees covering many areas of interest to the Federation.

As a Non-Government Organization (NGO), WFUMB is in official relation with the World Health Organization (WHO). WFUMB and WHO currently collaborate on various education programs by organizing and sponsoring courses and working for the creation of Education Centers and education and reference material.

The official journal of WFUMB, "Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology" (UMB) is published monthly by Elsevier Science Inc.

"ECHOES", the WFUMB Newsletter is published twice a year.
