The organisers of major International Scientific Meetings on medical ultrasound hosted by WFUMB Affiliated organisations as well as World Congresses may ask for a WFUMB Lecture to be given during the meeting.

The lecture shall be a “State of the Art” lecture on a topic proposed by the Affiliated Organisation in charge of the meeting, and will require the approval of the WFUMB Board.  The lecturer shall, as often as possible be member of the WFUMB Board, and the WFUMB Executive Council shall take part in the selection of the lecturer.

The lecturer shall represent the WFUMB if there would not be any other member of the WFUMB Board present  at the meeting. In the beginning of the lecture there shall be a report on the main activities of WFUMB.  WFUMB shall be involved in the preparation of this report.

The expenses of the “WFUMB Lecture” shall be partly or totally held by WFUMB.

WFUMB Lectures have been given in Europe, Latin America, Australia and Asia.
